I Kissed A Girl!
By Stickman • Aug 25th, 2008 • Category: SpotlightI Kissed A Girl is just funny. It’s really catchy too! I feel soooo ashamed to actually enjoy it but I do and I shall keep on enjoying it. What I enjoy even more, is Attack Attack’s cover of it.
Attack Attack are a screamo/hardcore band from Ohio, have been one of my favourite finds of late. After hearing Enter Shikari I was impressed at how well you can mix trance synths and hardcore. Attack Attack take the synth element one step further, incorporating it into a sound described by some as trancecore. I know I described Enter Shikari as trancecore in my review of Take To The Skies, but compared to Attack Attack, their use of trance synths is very minimal.
Now that we have cleared up who they are, lets get to the fun bit: their cover of I Kissed A Girl. I do apologise about the slightly wanky and emo video, but it was the only one on YouTube which had decent sound quality.
So… any takers? Am I the only one who loves this song? I was a little shocked when the majority was the screamo/electronica style. I’m kinda curious as to how good it would be if it was all hardcore like the bridge section. Still, I’m a HUGE fan of this style of electronica and was really pleased to hear this cover.
